Campaign Description

If you’re into D&D, GrimWild will feel familiar straight away. It's got the same classes as D&D, same adventures, and the same "you never know what'll happen" feeling. The difference is that the rules are lighter, the game moves faster, and you get way more control over where the story goes. Less time flicking through rulebooks, more time actually playing.

The fun bit is how much the players get to shape things. It’s not just me throwing stuff at you, you can introduce story elements, steer events, change the world on the fly. If you decide the ancient temple has a hidden vault under it, or that an old enemy shows up at the worst possible time, that’s on the table. It’s all about bouncing ideas around and running with whatever makes the game more fun and interesting. You even get rewarded for introducing "tangles", story elements that may negatively impact you.

And in the first session we’ll build the world together. You and the other players decide what kind of place it is using a narrative tool called Microscope which helps put together a shared world with history and current events. You'll decide together what tone the campaign will have and what’s at stake. Maybe it’s dark and dangerous. Maybe it’s hopeful and weird. Floating islands? A plague of dropbears? Courier pigeon druid clans who constantly war with each other? Whatever you guys come up with it’s your world from session one which makes it heaps easier to get invested in what happens to it.

It'll be a cool collaborative and narrative kind of game where “remember when…” stories pretty much write themselves.

GrimWild’s got all the heart of D&D but with more space to try weird and fun ideas and see what sticks. If you’re into big adventures and worlds you actually care about because you helped make them, you’re going to love it.
