He reaches forth with a rotted hand to sate his ambitions and the avarice of his – Nay. NAY! SHE SEES ME! DESPAIR! DESPAIR!” Oracle Astora of Vasselheim, moments before a firestorm consumed her.

100 years have passed since Vox Machina battled Vecna The Ascended, and cast the ascended arch-lich beyond The Divine Gate. Since then, the nations of Taldorei, Vasselheim, and Wildemount have faced and survived many hardships, but are still recovering after successfully re-imprisoning the dread leviathan, Uk’otoa. Now, the past again reaches forth into Exandria's present with a great, red clawed hand!

In The Rifenmist Peninsula, the burgeoning Mornset Alliance emerged from the leviathan’s awakening almost unscathed. However, the militaristic empire known as The Scarlet Sovereignty has also greatly expanded its borders. As old powers stir, the people of The Mornset Alliance shall soon face the greatest threat to their freedom since The Cinder King first razed Byroden almost a century and a half ago.

About the Game

In The Red Hand of Doom, players will begin as fledgling adventurers in The Rifenmist Peninsula. There, you and your companions will participate in a rebellion against a corrupt authority, and confront escalating threats to Byrodin and the surroudning Mornset Countryside. All of which may culminate in a desperate war for survival that could forever change the face of Exandria.

Game Expectations

This campaign will be more enjoyable for mature role-players. Experience and proficiency with 5e DnD is not required but confident role-playing will greatly enhance your enjoyment of this campaign. Whilst I prefer to run games that include sensitive topics such as war, slavery, and genocide, player consent and enjoyment is my top priority. As a GM, I am at my best running apocalyptic, seemingly bleak scenarios in which the intervention of your characters is a deciding factor. It is in the face of tragedy that heroism means everything. The campaign settings I run may not care about your characters (at first), but the CAMPAIGN certainly does.

This game is likely to include themes of:

  • War

  • Genocide

  • Slavery

  • Terrorism

The game is expected to initially run from 2nd to 5th level, with options to continue play to around 12th level.
